Parent View - Give Ofsted your view on your child's school

Welcome to EYFS...

Children in the Early Years Foundation Stage deserve the best possible start to their education. In class one we support and enable children to reach their full potential. We accommodate both Pre-School and Reception children.

Graded as "good" by Ofsted the EYFS classroom provides...

  • "a range of purposeful learning activities that support all curriculum areas. They make effective use of the outdoors to engage children in constructional and investigative challenges"
  • "effective transition arrangements on a termly basis enable staff to assess learning needs well in planning provision. As a result, children settle in quickly to routines"
  • "activities engage boys and girls equally and they interact positively together. Focused teaching and assessment of key skills to small groups proceeds without interruption"

Our class teacher is Mrs Jones, supported by our experienced teaching assistants: Mrs Parsons and Mrs Reilly. The children in Class One are always busy exploring and learning new things. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum both indoors and outdoors whatever the weather!

Class One is a bright and welcoming room with lots of stimulating learning activities where we provide a comprehensive foundation to children's education that all subsequent classes in the school build upon. An emphasis on personal development is fostered by access to a variety of provision areas including role play, computing, writing, construction, reading and outdoor activities. Children are supported in their learning by enthusiastic and experienced practitioners who provide intensive, high quality teaching across the curriculum.

The foundation stage follow themes independently, sometimes as a whole school adapting them to suit the needs and most importantly the interests of the children. Teachers transfer the topic/theme information via the parent notice board and though homework.
